In partnership with Empire State Development and the CNY Regional Market Authority, Onondaga County has led the preparation of the CNY Regional Market Revitalization Strategy. This document, based on extensive research and outreach to stakeholders and the community, outlines a program of physical improvements to modernize the Market, as well as a strategic financial plan for the Authority, ensuring that any new investments of public funds are well-considered and lead to a stable and sustainable operation for generations to come.
With this strategy in hand, Onondaga County has now committed $4 million to the revitalization of the Market, and in partnership with the Market Authority, are soliciting additional public and private investments that would greatly increase the sale of NY grown and produced goods to institutions throughout New York State and ensure that the Market is able to expand their retail sales to serve a greater number of families in low access food areas and throughout Central New York.
